We are getting down to the wire and the deadlines for our MA State House and Senate committee reports is coming up on February 7th. That means our priority bills must be considered by the committee they were assigned to and reported out or the bill dies. The committee can recommend three possible actions:
o A report with NO action-the bill is basically dead
o A report with FAVORABLE action means the bill is put on a calendar for debate and a vote (which is what we want for our priority bills) OR
o A report recommending FURTHER STUDY which means the bill is essentially dead.
PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL YOUR CAPE STATE SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVE (contacts at end of this email ) with the following message:
Please state your NAME AND ADDRESS & then say:
“On behalf of the Upper Cape Women’s Coalition, please work with committee members to pass the following bills out of committee with a FAVORABLE report.”
